Hatzegopteryx

Modelled, rigged, and rendered in Blender. Sculpted and baked in Zbrush. Textured in Substance Painter.
Originally meant to be a small update to my existing Hatzegopteryx, this overhaul took on a life of its own as I began to remake the creature from the ground up: Dissatisfied with the original's off proportions and scientific inaccuracies, I took the time to research the muscular-skeletal structure of Azhdarchids and Hatzegopteryx specifically, going so far as to get consultation from a Paleontologist. Despite my research, I still took creative liberties and speculations in mind, such as the jaw tooth presence and pycnofiber placement.

This piece by far is a testament to all I have learned in my previous 3D pieces on every level. I've made use of layers in Zbrush, new Baking techniques, texture map creation methods, and some light dabbling into the world of haircards, all to put together this new piece.
